THACO recently held a launch event for the new generation of premium Mazda products in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a new phase of development for the Mazda brand in Vietnam with its "Japanese Premium" positioning. The event also introduced three models to domestic customers: the CX-60 and CX-90 hybrid SUVs, and the MX-5 roadster.

According to Mazda's ASEAN representative, Vietnam continues to be one of the company's key markets in the region. The development of new product lines targets customers with high demands for technology, driving experience, and craftsmanship according to Japanese standards.

At the event, the CX-60 and CX-90 SUVs, featuring hybrid technology and imported directly from Japan, were introduced. These are premium models utilizing a new chassis platform and engines that combine powerful performance with optimized fuel efficiency.

According to test results published by the manufacturer, the CX-90 3.3 Turbo HEV version has an average fuel consumption of approximately 8.09 liters/100 km, while the CX-60 3.3 Turbo HEV achieves around 8 liters/100 km. This fuel consumption is comparable to many models with smaller engine capacities, thanks to the application of hybrid technology.

Alongside the two SUV models, Mazda also introduced the MX-5 – a roadster considered an icon of the brand, known for its compact design and sporty driving experience.

According to THACO, from 2026 onwards, Mazda will enter a new phase of development in Vietnam with the positioning of "Japanese Premium," not only upgrading its product portfolio but also aiming to improve customer experience through a new standard of showrooms and services. THACO will continue to invest in upgrading its distribution network and will bring more premium Mazda models to the Vietnamese market in the near future.

Expanding the hybrid vehicle lineup is seen as aligning with the automotive industry's shift towards fuel-efficient, low-emission vehicles, while also providing consumers with more options in the premium segment.
